Stena Line sells ferry to New Zealand

Stena Livia will soon have warmer waters beneath its keel.
Stena Line has sold the ferry to StraitNZ, the company operating ferry services across the Cook Strait between New Zealand’s North and South Islands.
This is reported by Shippax.
Stena Livia is currently sailing between Travemünde, Germany, and Liepaja, Latvia. Stena Livia is a sister ship to Connemara, which became part of the Cook Strait fleet in 2023.
Stena Livia will be renamed and undergo dry-docking maintenance in Europe before it arrives to join the Cook Strait fleet in July. Later this year, it will replace Strait Feronia, which dates back to 1997.
The new ferry will increase vehicle capacity by 10% and offer a significant increase in passenger space with additional upgrades, according to the company.
