Source2Sea, a digital marketplace in the maritime industry, is seeking a Vice President, Sales to lead our expanding commercial team. Reporting to our CEO, you will join a dynamic venture leadership team, where you are expected to make a significant impact. You will have full responsibility for the commercial team, leading and inspiring them toward success.
The position is based in Copenhagen, but for the right candidate alternative locations in Europe will be considered.
Summary:
The ideal candidate will have a ‘digital-first’ mindset and strong skills in opening doors at the highest levels within the industry - whether through a personal network, existing contacts, or by creating an appealing proposition that initiates meaningful dialogue. You are driven by building B2B relationships and showcasing Source2Sea’s value to key prospective customers, including both shipping companies and suppliers. Through active listening and adept problem-solving, you can identify customer pain points and opportunities and translate these insights into actionable solutions. As a role model, you lead and inspire the commercial team by setting clear direction and successfully onboarding shipping companies and suppliers yourself.

Your primary responsibilities in this role will be:
- Source2Sea is in high-growth mode, so tasks will be broad and varied, requiring a high level of adaptability to meet customer needs.
- A major part of your time will be spent opening doors to shipping companies and suppliers, promoting the Source2Sea concept and value propositions.
- Engage in strategic planning and pipeline management.
- Develop and maintain sales/account plans for target customers.
- Build, grow, and motivate the commercial organization.
- Act as a catalyst for sharing key customer insights across the organization, utilizing strong stakeholder management skills with the Product and Operational teams to ensure expectations and timelines are aligned before onboarding new customers.
- Align expectations with shipping companies and supplier organizations on the requirements of this digital journey, including mindset, technology, and processes.
We are looking for these Professional Qualifications:
- Proven door-opener and relationship builder with an established network at the senior management level within shipping companies.
- A "digital-first" mindset with the ability to recognize and convey the benefits of digital solutions.
- Experience in the maritime industry, whether with a shipowner, ship manager, supplier, or service provider.
- At least 10 years of sales experience at a senior management level.
Personal Characteristics required to succeed in this role:
- Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
- Exceptional relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- A strong “hunter” mindset with outstanding negotiation and deal-closing skills.
- Strong execution skills.
- English oral and written skills on negotiation level.
